Tessitura Network Continues to Lead the Way for Arts and Cultural Organizations

10/14/2009

As summer turned to fall, the Tessitura Network continued its expansion by adding several new licensees and sublicensees.  The leading enterprise software for arts and cultural institutions welcomes these new members of the Tessitura and the Network community.

Orchestra Iowa

Founded in April 1921, Orchestra Iowa is one of the oldest symphony orchestras in continuous operation west of the Mississippi River. Its 82 professional musicians perform more than 120 public performances throughout Eastern Iowa each year, many of which can be heard on Iowa Public Radio and seen on Iowa Public Television.

In June 2008, floods destroyed the Orchestra’s administrative office, school, and performance home—the Paramount Theatre. In the aftermath, Orchestra Iowa has continued to experience the support of their community as they rebuild. We are very pleased they selected Tessitura Software and the Tessitura Network to serve their targeted audience and operate their organization.

Arena Stage

Under the leadership of Artistic Director Molly Smith, Arena Stage has become the largest theater in the country dedicated to American plays and playwrights.

Founded in 1950 by Zelda Fichandler, Thomas Fichandler and Edward Mangum, Arena Stage was one of the nation’s original resident theaters, and has a distinguished record of leadership and innovation in the field. With the opening of the new Mead Center for American Theater in 2010, Arena Stage will have emerged as a leading center for the production, development and study of the American theater. Now in its sixth decade, Arena Stage serves a diverse annual audience of more than 200,000.

American plays are their foundation and inspiration. The core purpose of Arena Stage is to produce huge plays of all that is passionate, exuberant, profound, deep and dangerous in the American spirit. Their focus is on theater of the Americas, producing American classics, premieres of new plays and contemporary stories. At the same time they are relocating to a wonderful new facility, we are very privileged that they selected Tessitura Software and the Tessitura Network to upgrade their enterprise capabilities as well.
