Tessitura’s award-winning community is a thriving and collaborative home for arts and culture professionals to grow, be inspired, and give back. We champion and foster community-driven collaboration and elevate community voices and experiences. Community activity includes any online participation in our forums, Tessitura community groups, virtual events, and across our website; as well as participation at Tessitura Learning & Community Conferences (TLCC) and Tessitura community group events.

By logging into this website, we assume you accept this code of conduct. Do not continue to use https://tessituranetwork.com/ or https://community.tessituranetwork.com if you do not agree to abide by these guidelines.

Online Behavior

Tessitura is dedicated to a positive, safe, and harassment-free experience in which diverse participants may learn, network, and enjoy the company of colleagues in an environment of mutual human respect regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, color, immigration status, social and economic class, educational level, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, mental and physical ability, age, size, family status, political belief, and religion.

Every member has a right to feel welcomed, valued, and respected. Fostering an environment of respect is everyone’s responsibility. Harassment, therefore, is specifically prohibited.

Harassment is any verbal or non-verbal behavior that threatens another person or group and that reinforces social structures of domination related to race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, color, immigration status, social and economic class, educational level, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, mental and physical ability, age, size, family status, political belief, and religion. Examples of harassing behavior include:

  • Violence, threats of violence, or violent language directed against another person or group of people.
  • Sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory jokes and language.
  • Posting or displaying sexually explicit or violent material.
  • Posting or threatening to post other people’s personally identifying information.
  • Personal insults, particularly those related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability or physical appearance.
  • Inappropriate photography or recording, including photography or recording without prior consent.
  • Unwelcome sexual attention. This includes sexualized comments or jokes and unwelcome sexual advances.
  • Deliberate intimidation or stalking.
  • Sustained disruption of any online space or event, including talks and presentations.
  • Posting content to deliberately provoke an argument or emotional reaction (trolling)
  • Personally insulting another online community member
  • Communicating aggressively
  • Advocating for or encouraging any of the above behavior.

All participants are expected to observe these rules and behaviors in all forums, groups and events on tessituranetwork.com and its subdomains. Speakers are asked to frame discussions as openly or inclusively as possible, and to be aware of how language or images may be perceived by others, especially given the diversity of this community.

Participants seek to learn, network, and have fun. Please do so responsibly and with respect for the rights of others to do likewise. Participants who are asked to stop a hostile or harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, Tessitura may take any action deemed appropriate, up to and including expulsion from the online community or event without warning or refund and sanctioning from future events or online participation. If a participant is expelled from an event or online participation, admission back into the event or online community will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Our priority is to maintain the safety and productiveness of the Tessitura community.
